Galaxy Miner is an unusual slot machine, which you can check out yourself thanks to PG Softβs efforts. They designed it as a slot with 3 reels, where youβre playing the role of an astronaut on a mining ship, and by the looks of it, youβre claiming prizes from asteroids by using a black hole vortex to bring them in. The Science Fiction theme is well implemented, but youβre not going to find any regular lines on its 3×3 reels. Instead, itβs entirely built around the idea of prize collection symbols.

Slot theme and symbols
A major way in which Galaxy Miner stands out is through the chosen theme. They designed a slot machine with a space mining theme, gave it only a couple of reels, and did a reasonable job giving us a design where there are few symbols, and mostly youβre looking at asteroids that act as blocker positions. Still, you do get a couple of symbols from time to time, with the major one being the Win Vortex (black hole), while the other four are asteroids with various types of resources (these carry prizes).
The mechanics of Galaxy Miner are fairly modern, and you can get something similar in slots from other developers, if you find out youβre really into them (Wazdan, in particular, has loads of games like this). You donβt form combinations. Instead, you either collect prizes from symbols when the Win Vortex is present, or you trigger the main feature if you have enough prize symbols on the reels. In the end, youβre looking at a slot with high volatility (a downside), a 96.78% RTP (excellent), and a 5,000x top prize (average).

Win Vortex Symbol
The entire game is built around a collection mechanic. You can only collect Prize symbols, which come in four variants, with the best paying 20x to 1,000x. The lowest prize you can get is 0.5x. The collection occurs if there is a Win Vortex symbol (the collector). These will sometimes appear with counters, allowing you to collect the roundβs wins up to 5 times.
Bonus Feature with Respins
As for the bonus feature, it triggers if you have a minimum of 6 Prize symbols visible (on the 9 positions provided in the game area). It adds a Persistent Win Vortex in the middle of the 2nd reel, and it will be used to collect all Prize symbols. You get 3 respins initially, but if you land new Vortex or Prize symbols, the number resets. Prizes can be collected multiple times if you have both the Persistent Win Vortex and additional Vortex symbols in view. Vortex symbols stay in place once they land, and their prizes are collected at the end of the feature.
