Rocket Stars is one of the more unusual-looking slots you can find in Evoplayβs collection, and it plays differently as well. The genre is Science Fiction-related, with a team of Starmallows building rockets that go into space and bring you rewards. To start off, you will find the usual 5×3 reels, though, and the 20 paylines are just as common as the game area.
Every slot machine must be developed by a company that invented, designed and put it into operation. Many players eventually find that they only enjoy playing on machines from specific software provider, so they narrow down their selection by preferred brand.
A slot with medium volatility. Wins are less frequent, but more often of higher value. The game is less stable and you can expect longer periods without winning, suitable for players who can tolerate higher risk and are more after bigger wins. More about volatility here.
Slot theme and symbols
Despite its age, being a 2020 release, this slot machine offers its players an excellent design, which is inspired by a team of alien creatures, called Starmallows. Theyβre building a rocket, and the process advances whenever you get scatter symbols on the reels. The game area is part of a machine of sorts, with metal slabs holding gemstones or with various objects and shuttles serving as higher-value symbols.
Rocket Stars theme and symbols
For the most part, what you will experience in Rocket Stars is typical 5-reel slot gameplay, with symbols that can form combinations via paylines when they land 3 or more times on them, and go from left to right. Itβs a bit on the risky side, with Medium to High volatility, and it pays up to 2,174x the stake at its best. Even though itβs not a very impressive reward, the RTP looks good, being expected to be 96.24%.

Scatter symbol
One of the most interesting symbols to get in Rocket Stars is the scatter. The scatter symbols are collected when they show up, and they help advance the construction of the rocket. Scatters may land on all reels.
Rocket Building
As scatter symbols land, the rocket construction process advances. You need to collect a total of 30 scatters, over the course of multiple spins, to finish it. There is a progress bar that tells you how many scatters have been collected so far.
Free Spins
Once youβve finished building the rocket and you have collected 30 scatters, the game will trigger 10 free spins. Once this feature gets going, getting an additional scatter will bring you 1 extra spin and a boost to the multiplier by 1x. The wins accumulated during the free spins will be boosted by the total multiplier that youβve obtained in this feature.
Star Gates
The Star Gate modifier is random and it will give you 5 or 6 mystery symbols. These Star Gates will all open up and reveal either scatters or regular symbols. These are the equivalent of mystery symbols.
Space Gate
A Space Gate is a 3×3 mystery symbol, which covers the reels 2-4 entirely. Itβs a random modifier, and it will bring you either a regular symbol or scatters in all those positions.

Rocket Stars
Rocket Stars is a slot machine that stands out, offering players an excellent design based on a theme thatβs not as common as Iβd like. The aliens building their rocket, and the playerβs scatters helping the process along, is a nice touch, and youβre guaranteed the main feature when that goal is reached. I donβt really like the top prize, at 2,174x the stake, given the Medium-High volatility advertised inside. It does have the right RTP, at 96.04%, so it pays enough overall. If youβre a fan of science fiction, or if you simply want a different theme than most offer, Rocket Stars is a good one to check out.

How do we rate slot machines?
We evaluate slot machines based on multiple criteria, from which we make our final verdict.
A unique theme, Science Fiction-inspired, taking players to an alien planet thatβs just starting out its space program.
Good design, fitting of the chosen theme, and with high-quality images for its symbols.
96.04% is an OK RTP (Return to Player), so the long-term player winnings are acceptable.
The Rocket Building process, which guarantees access to the free spins once you collect enough scatters.
A free spins feature that has a multiplier that can go up with each new scatter you collect.
Star Gate and Space Gate modifiers that act as mystery symbols and can result in multiple matching symbols or scatters.
Cons
Its volatility, classified as Medium to High, tells us of fairly complicated gameplay.
It pays 2,174x the stake at most, which is not the sort of top jackpot that would motivate a lot of players.
When it comes to the paid rounds, the only exciting part takes the form of those mystery symbols.
