The story of The Three Little Pigs goes back to the Middle Ages, and its author is unknown. It tells of three pigs who built their houses of straw, wood, and bricks, so the materials get progressively stronger. The Big Bad Wolf comes to eat the pigs, huffing and puffing to tear their houses down. It succeeds with the first two, but the brick house doesn’t go down. While in the original story, we’ve seen the three piggies as victims, here it’s the wolf that’s scared of them. It’s a nice change, especially since there are a number of competitors covering this same story. Symbol-wise, we find a total of 12 regular symbols, starting with the fairly typical card suits and continuing with images of tools and building materials, the wolf as it fell into the pot of boiling water, and the three crazy piggies. As its feature symbols, it has the Brick House as a scatter symbol and the Crying Wolf as a wild symbol. The other one is the Piggy Bank wild, which you collect.

WILD Symbol

Each round starts with one potential wild symbol, which you can get on the 3rd reel. It’s the Piggy Bank wild symbol, and if it is present, it will be collected and will activate a modifier for the rest of the round. If additional Piggy Bank wilds are collected that same round, they will unlock additional modifiers:

Card Suits Removed: For the second wild that’s collected on the 3rd reel, the game removes the four card suit icons (the ones of smaller value) from the reels. This ensures a higher win on average for winning combinations, plus it makes it more likely that they will form in the first place (you’re playing with 8 regular symbols, instead of 12).
10x Multiplier: The third Piggy Bank wild that’s collected in that same round will unlock a 10x multiplier, which applies to all wins. Once the round ends, these modifiers reset.

Wolf Wild

These are wild symbols that only show up once you’ve collected the Piggy Bank Wild once. For that particular round, all regular Wolf symbols are transformed or land directly as extra wilds. You will be able to use them as substitutes in new combinations, or they can pay directly for their own wins. One more thing that’s interesting about these extra wilds is that they pay more once they transform than when they’re in their regular form.

Scatter Symbol

Our rating of the game Three Crazy Piggies

While there is no shortage of good-looking slots in this particular sub-category dedicated to the story of The Three Little Pigs, I’d say that PG Soft’s new release stands out thanks to its twist, of the pigs hunting the wolf down. It’s a 5-reel slot with modern graphics and a cast of three pigs who look like they’re part of a gang. Its mechanics are fine, but they are not unique. It’s a good combination of wild symbols, symbol removals, and high multipliers, all available through simple but powerful mechanics. As with most slots, you will spend most of your time in the paid spins, but even there, you get a chance to unlock additional modifiers. While the odds are low, you can claim the 2,500x top jackpot even during its paid spins. Three Crazy Piggies has a backstory that’s a twist on the popular fable that most developers use in the original form. The main characters are strong enough to punish the Big Bad Wolf.
I found the graphics enjoyable, of high quality, and accurate for the kind of story it’s trying to tell. Even the card suit symbols look good, custom-made for this game and not stock photos.
This is a medium volatility slot, which gives players a more balanced gameplay and a chance at bigger rewards than a more casual release would be capable of.
The mechanics are not overly complicated, so beginners shouldn’t have a tough time figuring out how it all works.
It has a mobile-friendly design, but it can be played on a PC just as well.
