Slot machine details and review Train of Riches: Capital Express
Train of Riches: Capital Express belongs to Evoplay, and itβs a slot machine. The chosen theme is obvious enough, the inspiration for its design coming from trains, and apparently, ones that are carrying lots of valuables onboard. The setup is a regular one, where you spin 5×3 reels, and you have 25 paylines through which winning combinations may form.
Every slot machine must be developed by a company that invented, designed and put it into operation. Many players eventually find that they only enjoy playing on machines from specific software provider, so they narrow down their selection by preferred brand.
A slot with medium volatility. Wins are less frequent, but more often of higher value. The game is less stable and you can expect longer periods without winning, suitable for players who can tolerate higher risk and are more after bigger wins. More about volatility here.
Slot theme and symbols
You are looking at a fairly typical 5-reel online slot machine, with 3 rows of symbols and a mix of symbols that is split between unrelated Royals and the ones of higher value that show us various types of valuables (from gold coins to safes or diamonds). If you consider the overall design of the slot, itβs a decent-looking title, particularly where themed symbols are concerned. The golden steam train thatβs at the top of the game area looks pretty good as well.
Train of Riches Capital Express theme and symbols
Moving on to what kind of experience you can expect from this slot machine, itβs going to be a highly volatile session whenever you check it out, and at its best, it will pay at most 1,245x the roundβs stake. Luckily, the long-term RTP (Return to Player) looks pretty good, at 95.90%, so itβs a fair enough game. You also get plenty of features to help you out along the way, but more on that you can read in our review.

WILD symbol
Showing us the image of the Golden Train as the wild, this symbol is reserved for reels 2-5. As it doesnβt land on reel 1, it canβt create combinations of its own. Itβs just a substitute symbol, which you use in regular combinations. It will not replace a bonus or scatter symbol.
Scatter symbol
Scatters are available on three reels, the middle ones. These have the Free Spins logo on the train tickets.
Free Spins
If you can get the three scatter symbols to appear on all three reels at the same time, you will be rewarded with 8 free spins. Itβs going to be an interesting experience, as the low-value symbols are removed from the game area. Youβre playing just with high-value symbols, bonus symbols, scatters, and wilds, and so forming combinations or getting features to trigger should be easier. You can also retrigger this feature if you get another 3+ scatters.
Bonus symbol
The other feature symbol you may get on those reels is the bonus symbol, featuring an image of a gold coin. It carries a random value, picked from a range of 1x to 14x the stake.
Random Event
This Random Event can trigger, as the name says, at random. Itβs only possible during rounds where you have 1+ bonus symbols, and you havenβt formed any winning combinations. If it triggers, it adds 5 bonus symbols in random spots, guaranteeing access to the bonus game.
Bonus Game
Whenever you have a round with 6+ bonus symbols that land at the same time, you will get access to the bonus game. It consists of 3 respins, where the triggering bonus symbols are sticky. You go through respins, and if more bonus symbols land, they become sticky as well, and the respins reset to 3. There are jackpots that can be claimed as well, in addition to bonus symbols. Mini pays 30x, Major pays 150x, while Grand Jackpot is worth 1,000x.
Bonus Buy
With the Bonus Buy option present, any player can choose to trigger a major feature immediately, but it will cost a fair amount. You can get 8 free spins if you pay 23x the stake, or the bonus game if you pay 43x the stake.

Our rating of the game
Train of Riches: Capital Express
Train of Riches: Capital Express looks like a decent game, in theory, but it has several shortcomings. For one, itβs a highly volatile slot that has a top prize of only 1,245x the roundβs stake. Even with the 95.90% RTP thatβs announced, it doesnβt feel sufficient. The other downside is the mix of features, which, while rich enough, is also similar to what you can get from a lot of other modern games. There is nothing to make this game stand out.

How do we rate slot machines?
We evaluate slot machines based on multiple criteria, from which we make our final verdict.
Wild symbols are included and will help you get paid a bit easier when they show up.
The free spins feature removes low-value symbols and can even be retriggered.
Hold & Win style respins are also part of the list of special features, and may result in a jackpot.
Comes with a Random Event that may trigger the bonus game even if you donβt have the required symbols.
The Bonus Buy option can be used for either of the two main special features.
Cons
Highly volatile game, so you risk plenty as youβre playing it, and the odds of getting a big prize arenβt great.
A jackpot of 1,245x the roundβs stake is one of the lower returns you will find in a high volatility slot.
The RTP, at 95.90%, is only acceptable, and plenty of competitors with similar features do better.
Has a regular train-themed design and common features, so nothing to recommend it over others.
