One of the things I love about Xmas Burst is that it keeps the traditional side of Christmas in its design. Where Endorphinaβs slot doesnβt do as good a job is in making Xmas Burst an experience that everyone will enjoy. While the medium to high volatility isnβt too terrible, Iβm not a big fan of the 2,100x top jackpot thatβs advertised. The RTP sits at 96.01%, which is fine, but it doesnβt really apply to a playerβs sessions; itβs more of a long-term thing telling you how fair it is. As you form combinations in Xmas Burst, the Cascading Reels mechanic will trigger each time, replacing winning symbols with others. This can bring you more wins for that same already paid-for spin, and there are also multipliers that go up (more on that below).

The Firecrackers Bundle symbol will be the wild, which you can get only on reels 2, 3, and 4. It can be a substitute for other symbols, with the exception of scatters. If it doesnβt contribute to a win, it explodes and removes adjacent symbols, giving you a new cascade.
Cascading Multipliers
Iβve already mentioned the Cascading Reels mechanic. An interesting thing about it is that it increases the multiplier each time it triggers within the same spin. You start at 1x, but as you go through cascades, the multiplier goes to 2x, 3x, 4x, and then maxes out at 5x. During free spins, the values are higher, so the multipliers are at 3x, 5x, 7x, 9x, and 15x. The multipliers reset at the end of each spin to the lowest value from that range.
Scatter symbol
A scatter symbol, featuring the Wrapped Gift, lands on reels 1-4 during paid spins, and reels 1-3 during free spins.
Free Spins
Via 3 or 4 scatter symbols, the game triggers 10 or 20 free spins, respectively. Since scatters appear only on three reels inside, retriggering the feature gets you only 10 extra rounds. It has increased multipliers that are tied into the cascading reels mechanic, with wins going from 3x to 15x.
Risk Game (Gamble)
You have the option to gamble winnings after each successful spin. You can see what the dealerβs card is, and then you can risk your winnings for a chance to double them (or lose them, if you have a lower value card).

I love the implementation of the traditional Christmas theme, with high-quality symbols and loads of appropriate decorations. Itβs risky to play, but a Medium-High volatility rating is not as dangerous to players, at least compared to many of its competitors. Iβm not entirely happy with the 2,100x top jackpot it can pay at its best, but the long-term RTP of 96.01% is good enough. If you love Christmas, and you donβt mind the below-average prize, itβs a decent slot to check out.
