Slot machine details and review Temple of Dead Bonus Buy
Temple of Dead Bonus Buy is the version of this Book-style slot machine from Evoplay that allows you to buy access to the main feature. Itβs a fairly typical slot with 5 reels in this category, giving you Ancient Egypt-themed graphics and the standard features. The same goes for its game area, which has 5×3 reels and 10 paylines.
Every slot machine must be developed by a company that invented, designed and put it into operation. Many players eventually find that they only enjoy playing on machines from specific software provider, so they narrow down their selection by preferred brand.
A high volatility slot. Wins are rare, but can be really big. The game has more pronounced fluctuations and can often go without hitting anything for a long time, suitable for players who like adrenaline, higher risk and work with a larger budget. More about volatility here.
Slot theme and symbols
Temple of Dead tells the story of an adventurer who explores Ancient Egyptβs legacy, and apparently, he somehow gets in touch with three of the queens of that era. At the very least, we see their images on the reels, in major symbols, right alongside the top-paying Adventurer. The Book is also there, in its usual role, and you will find plenty of the usual Royals as well. It looks fairly modern, but so do dozens of others that use the same theme and mechanics.
Temple of Dead Bonus Buy theme and symbols
You get what youβd expect from a Book-style slot, in terms of its High volatility and the 96.02% RTP. Where Temple of Dead does better than most is in its delivery of a big top prize. While other Book slots only pay up to 5,000x, this one can deliver prizes worth up to 10,051x the stake. Some symbols will pay when forming combinations of 2+ symbols, while others require 3+.

Scatter symbol
As this is a Book-style slot, you probably know already what you should expect from it. The main feature symbol is the Book, which acts as a scatter and as a wild, so itβs a 2-in-1 feature. It can substitute for regular symbols when itβs in the right position to do so, but itβs not going to happen often, since this symbol is also used to trigger the main feature, and so it doesnβt land that often. If there are 3, 4, or 5 Book symbols anywhere on the reels, you get paid 2x, 20x, or 200x the stake, respectively.
Free Spins
The requirement to trigger 10 free spins is the same as getting paid, to have 3 or more Book scatters anywhere in view. The feature is retriggered the same way and gets you 10 rounds when this happens. At the start of the feature, a regular symbol is picked at random and becomes an Expanding Symbol. Whenever it is present on 2-3+ reels, depending on the symbol involved, it expands to cover all positions. It then pays on all lines, even if the reels are not adjacent.
Bonus Buy
You have your pick of how many free spins will trigger. While regular scatters only give you 10 free spins, here you can pick between 10 free spins (75x the stake), 20 free spins (148x the stake), or 30 free spins (221x the stake).

Our rating of the game
Temple of Dead Bonus Buy
Temple of Dead feels like any other Book-style slot machine. It has the modern graphics that some of the others donβt, but itβs not the only one that looks good these days. Evoplay didnβt do much to make it stand out in the huge crowd it competes in, though the 10,051x top jackpot does look like an excellent target for any player to aim for. Otherwise, you should expect high volatility, a 96.02% RTP, and the standard popular Book-style features that made this category popular.

How do we rate slot machines?
We evaluate slot machines based on multiple criteria, from which we make our final verdict.
You get Book-style features, with scatter/wilds triggering the free spins feature with special expanding symbols.
The 10,051x top jackpot is actually above average, even for this highly competitive category.
The RTP is 96.02%, which is what youβd expect to find in a game of this type.
Good quality for the slotβs design, which is not guaranteed in the Ancient Egypt category.
You will have the option to trigger 10, 20, or 30 free spins via the Bonus Buy button.
Cons
It has the same theme as most Book-style slots, Ancient Egypt-based, so it doesnβt stand out that way.
No additional modifiers or features to help make it interesting for players who love Book slots.
High volatility is present in the game, and it tells us of a risky experience, with lots of losing spins.
