Reign of Dragons is an online slot thatβs designed and released by Evoplay. It delves into the fantasy genre, using elemental dragon tamers, along with the dangerous creatures around which the story is built. Its layout is a simple one, giving you 5×3 reels, while winning combinations are possible via 20 paylines.
Every slot machine must be developed by a company that invented, designed and put it into operation. Many players eventually find that they only enjoy playing on machines from specific software provider, so they narrow down their selection by preferred brand.
A slot with medium volatility. Wins occur occasionally and are balanced. The game has an alternating course without extreme fluctuations, suitable for players looking for a compromise between risk and winning potential. More about volatility here.
Slot theme and symbols
Youβre looking at a slot machine with five reels, a release that is special mostly because of the theme and the design choices made by Evoplay inside. It looks like an Anime-inspired design, thanks to the way the female tamers are designed, each one with a connection to one of the elements, including Fire, Air, Water, and Nature. Out of the 9 symbols that can form winning combinations, 8 are regulars. You can check out its design for yourself by giving the slotβs demo a try.
Reign of Dragons theme and symbols
A prize of 496x the stake is the best that the game will do. While thatβs not the sort of prize that would motivate most players, the medium volatility rating that itβs earned during testing tells us that itβs not just about losing rounds, and some can actually pay a decent prize. Even more importantly, long-term, this is a slot with a 96.03% RTP, which is in line with the returns available in most modern games of this type.

WILD symbol
The top-paying combinations of Reign of Dragons will form via Dragon Wilds, symbols that can land on all reels, and offer as much as 25x for a combo of their own. More often than not, these Dragon Wilds are going to serve as substitute symbols, helping you form winning combinations. Wild symbols do not replace scatters.
Master in Red scatter symbol
A Master in Red scatter symbol can land only on reel 1. It will replace up to three low-value Red Dragon Egg symbols, turning them into wilds.
Master in Blue scatter symbol
The Master in Blue scatter lands on the 5th reel. Its appearance will bring the player a modifier that syncs the reels 2-4, giving them the exact same symbols in similar positions.
Master in Gold scatter symbol
Master in Gold scatters are the second ones that can land on the 1st reel. When it makes an appearance, it adds 1 or 2 Golden Dragons to the reels, in the best positions possible. These symbols will act as wilds.
Master in Green scatter symbol
Another scatter for the fifth reel, the Master in Green will pick the green Dragon Egg low-value symbols, turning them into sticky wilds for the duration of the free spins feature.
Free Spins
Triggering the free spins feature is possible if you have two Master scatters at the same time, on reels 1 and 5. This gets you 5 free spins, where you benefit from two types of features, depending on the symbols that triggered them.

Our rating of the game
Reign of Dragons
While Reign of Dragons doesnβt pay the kind of big prizes youβd want from a slot machine, offering 496x the stake at most, it does have Medium volatility and a 96.03% RTP, so itβs considered a fair game. It also has a unique design and a connection to the fantasy genre thatβs sure to be noticed, though Iβm not sure itβs also going to be appreciated. Whether youβre a beginner or a more experienced player, if you also love fantasy, you will likely enjoy the action and the features that are included.

How do we rate slot machines?
We evaluate slot machines based on multiple criteria, from which we make our final verdict.
Its fantasy theme, involving both dragons and the four elements.
A 96.03% RTP is good news, telling us how much money will return to the players in the form of prizes.
With a medium volatility rating, itβs the sort of slot machine that can also pay a decent prize from time to time.
Comes with a unique mix of scatter symbols that will each trigger its own modifiers.
A free spins feature where you get two modifiers to help you out, improving the experience.
Cons
The best top prize of this game is 496x the stake, which is not great when volatility is at a medium level.
Its design style is hit and miss, a bit on the awkward side, and Iβm not sure how many will appreciate it.
Short list of special features, just wilds and scatters (though they each have different modifiers).
